I read my ex's journal after a bad week. Now they won't speak to me.
Relationships · Chicago
Side A (age 59)
Something had been wrong for 11 months and I couldn't get a straight answer. I read four pages. I told them the same night. I was wrong and I said so — but I found out things I'd been directly asking about for months.
Side B (age 45)
The journal is the one place I don't have to manage anyone's feelings. Confessing right after doesn't undo it. Now every honest thing I write, I write knowing it might be read.
